PwC Tax & Legal grows with two new incorporations

PwC Tax & Legal, the law and tax advisory firm of PwC, has recently incorporated Francisco Cavero and José Ahedo to strengthen its tax advisory services in the Basque Country, Aragón and La Rioja. Cavero has more than 30 years of experience in corporate taxation, with a special focus on family companies and mergers and acquisitions. Ahedo, on the other hand, has extensive experience in the taxation of large business groups and corporate transactions.

With these hires, the firm led by Joaquín Latorre, strengthens the presence and territorial capillarity of the firm, which currently has offices in 19 provinces: La Coruña, Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Logroño, Madrid, Málaga, Murcia, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, Pamplona, San Sebastián, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santander, Seville, Valencia, Vigo and Zaragoza. In addition, it promotes its advisory services aimed at middle market companies with a special focus on Spanish family businesses.

Francisco Cavero holds a law degree from the University of Zaragoza, a master’s degree in taxation from the Instituto de Empresa, a master’s degree in auditing from the Faculty of Economics of Zaragoza and a master’s degree in customs taxation from the University of Valencia. Until now, he was a partner at Tribeca Abogados, although he has spent most of his professional career -21 years- as a partner in the Tax Department of Cuatrecasas. In addition to his experience in corporate taxation, he has extensive knowledge in the taxation of international trade (customs revenue to VAT), having passed the aptitude tests for training as a customs representative organized by the AEAT. He is a member of the Royal and Illustrious Bar Association of Zaragoza since 1992, and permanent member of the Economy and Tax Commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Zaragoza.

José Ahedo holds a degree in Law from the University of Deusto, specializing in legal-economic law, and a master’s degree in Tax Consultancy and Management from ESADE. In the last ten years, he has developed his career in the Tax Department of Cuatrecasas in Bilbao and, previously, in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of KMPG Abogados. He has extensive experience in taxation in the Basque Country, mainly concerning corporate taxation, tax planning of large business groups, as well as in company acquisitions.
