PwC appoints 27 new partners
PwC Spain has announced the appointment of 27 new partners and a record 943 promotions among professionals in all its business lines, coinciding with the close of its fiscal year, which ended on June 30. These figures show the good performance of all divisions and the firm’s commitment to the development and careers of its more than 5,500 professionals.
For Gonzalo Sánchez, president of PwC Spain, “the appointment as partner is the most important recognition for any PwC professional, as well as a sign of their contribution to our fundamental pillars, which are ethics, differentiation and teamwork. In addition, they are an example of a culture based on meritocracy, development, and the permanent improvement of the quality of the teams”.
New partners
Among the 27 new partners, nine of them have been appointed as equity partners. The new partners are Carlos García Comuñas, Joaquín Guerola, Fernando Pindado and Jordi Toscas, in Audit. José María Martín Balari, in Consulting. Fernando Sánchez Vicente, in the Transactions business, and Antonio Fernández Crende, Fernando Fernández-Miranda and Álvaro Torres, in PwC Tax & Legal, the firm’s law and tax advisory firm.
The 18 new national partners are Alfredo Arias, Francisco José Chisvert, Alejandro Cobas, Jorge Foncuberta, Sergio Mateos and Ignacio Rodríguez-Guanter, in Audit. Carolina Díez, María Fumanal, Gerardo García-Boente and Enrique Sotutullo, in PwC Tax & Legal. Anna Merino, Jon Torre, Gonzalo Gómez-Abad, Diego González, Alberto Martín and Elda Benítez-Inglott, in Consulting, and Ander de la Lama and Davide Mosso, in Transactions.
Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Santander and Vigo
The areas of expertise of these partners are very diverse and range from auditing and corporate governance, through sustainability and climate change, digital regulation, strategy, M&A advisory, family business or legal and tax, to name a few. And in different sectors such as finance, technology and telecommunications, energy, and real estate, among others. The new partners belong to our offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Santander and Vigo.

In auditing, it is the main auditor of IBEX-35 accounts by fees and has as clients leading companies such as Acerinox, Santander, Bankinter, Caixabank, Colonial, Merlin Properties, Repsol, Sacyr and Telefónica.
PwC’s transaction division has led the M&A market in 2023 for the twelfth consecutive year, according to the five main annual rankings prepared by LSEG-London Stock Exchange Group (formerly Refinitiv), Mergermarket, Dealogic, Bloomberg and TTR.
PwC Tax & Legal, the legal and tax advisory business, is among the top four firms in the country by turnover.
In addition, in consulting the firm has become a reference for companies in advisory areas such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and energy transition and climate change.
