PLMJ advises Macquarie on housing platforms acquisition

PLMJ advised the Macquarie Asset Management group on the acquisition of two European student housing platforms, Milestone and BaseStack Living. Greenberg Traurig also took part in the transaction. Together, these platforms manage over 12,000 beds across six different European markets, namely Portugal, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, and Italy.

The transaction was executed simultaneously in Vienna, Lisbon, Berlin, Amsterdam, Warsaw, and Milan. PLMJ advised on the Portuguese aspects of the transaction, while the London office of Greenberg Traurig coordinated the deal across the various jurisdictions covered by the acquired platforms.

In Portugal, the transaction was led by Ricardo Reigada Pereira (pictured), co-head partner of the real estate and tourism practice, with the support of a multidisciplinary team.
