Pinto Ribeiro Advogados has advised Menin Douro Estates, a Portuguese company owned by Brazilian investors, that is dedicated to viticulture and the production and marketing of wine, in the operation to acquire the assets of Sociedade Casa Agrícola Horta Osório.
This acquisition consolidates Menin Douro Estates’ presence in the Portuguese wine market, namely in the Douro Wine Region, after the acquisition of Quinta da Costa de Cima and Quinta do Sol in 2018. The Douro region has Portugal’s highest wine classification as a Denominação de Origem Controlada (DOC). It is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world.
Pinto Ribeiro Advogados provided assistance in carrying out the legal audit of the Real Estate and production assets of Casa Agrícola Horta Osório, as well as in the preparation of the entire acquisition transaction.
Pinto Ribeiro Advogados involvement throughout the transaction was coordinated by partner André Miranda (pictured) and involved a multidisciplinary team composed of several lawyers from the Corporate and Commercial, Real Estate, Tax, Labour, Public and Regulatory, Litigation and Intellectual Property areas for the firm.
