Pinsent Masons expands in Poland and South Africa
Pinsent Masons has announced plans to open an office in Warsaw in mid-2026. This week, the law firm also announced the establishment of an international services delivery centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
The firm’s new office in Poland aims to strengthen its pan-European offering and establish its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, states Pinsent Masons. The founding team, led by Bartek Kordeczka and Jakub Marcinkowski, will comprise six highly regarded partners who collectively bring expertise in real estate; corporate/M&A; banking & finance; and construction, with the intention of developing additional practice areas in the future.
Andrew Masraf (pictured), senior partner of Pinsent Masons, commented: “Poland, as one of the continent’s most resilient and dynamic economies, adds a valuable component to our pan-European offering. It is a key market for a number of our clients and continues to be an important investment destination in Central and Eastern Europe.”
Bartek Kordeczka said: “The Polish market represents a significant opportunity for international firms, with Warsaw increasingly recognised as a legal and business hub in the CEE region. This expansion into Poland adds a new dimension to supporting the cross-border needs of its clients.”
Jakub Marcinkowski added: “Warsaw acts as a strategic base for managing transactions governed by English law across the CEE region, with significant demand for M&A, banking and real estate services. Our founding team brings extensive experience across all these areas, placing us in an excellent position to integrate into Pinsent Masons’ multinational network”.
Warsaw will be Pinsent Masons’ ninth office in continental Europe, joining its existing offices in Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
South Africa
Pinsent Masons has established an international services delivery centre in Cape Town, South Africa. The centre, which is already operational, will expand and develop services currently provided primarily by Pinsent Masons Vario (Pinsent Masons’ ALSP).
The new centre will offer a growing range of services that include administrative functions, paralegal support, company secretarial services, legal project management, technology and legal consulting.
Matthew Kay, director of Pinsent Masons Vario and lead on the establishment of the new centre, said:
“Whether harnessing the potential of AI or deploying our diverse range of legal skills, we continue to transform the way we deliver our services. This is about ensuring our clients receive our best work, delivered in the right way. Our new legal services delivery centre in Cape Town allows us to deploy highly skilled resources to meet the demands of a highly competitive international legal market.”
The international services delivery centre will primarily support client matters, while also providing support to other Pinsent Masons functions. It will operate as a separate entity from the firm’s existing Johannesburg office and will not handle South African matters or local instructions.
