Pinsent Masons advises Iberdrola on the sale of a portfolio of hydroelectric power plants in Spain
Pinsent Masons has advised Iberdrola on the sale of a portfolio of mini-hydroelectric power plants in Spain to Green Energy Platform (GEP), a platform owned by Renewable Power International and Cube Infrastructure Managers.
The portfolio comprises ten operational plants with a total installed capacity of 31 MW, distributed across the autonomous communities of La Rioja, Navarre, Castile-La Mancha and Castile and León. This sale is part of Iberdrola’s rotation of non-strategic assets.
Iberdrola is one of the world’s largest utility companies, with a presence in both power generation and transmission networks in countries such as Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico. The company operates across the entire energy value chain, including power generation, transmission, distribution and marketing, with a strong strategic focus on renewable energy, network infrastructure and customer-centric innovation.
