Pérez-Llorca and Legora (formerly Leya) sign a strategic agreement
Pérez-Llorca and Legora (formerly Leya), a collaborative AI workspace for lawyers, have signed a strategic agreement to advise companies in Spain and Portugal on the integration of advanced AI solutions into their legal structures.
The alliance seeks to help large companies integrate AI solutions into their legal structures, optimizing their efficiency. “Our goal is to lead the transformation of the legal function, enabling companies to leverage the full potential of Artificial Intelligence,” says Andy Ramos, Industrial Property, Intellectual Property and Technology partner at Pérez-Llorca.
Legal advice and technological expertise
This collaboration combines Pérez-Llorca’s specialized legal advice with Legora’s technological expertise, adapting to the new European AI regulatory framework that was approved in 2024 and will be fully implemented in 2026. According to the statement shared from the law firm, this European AI Regulation positions this technology as a “strategic priority” for companies.
“This collaboration allows corporations not only to comply with the Regulation, but also to turn AI into a strategic tool for the legal function” states Raúl Rubio, partner of Industrial Property, Intellectual Property and Technology at Pérez-Llorca.
Confidentiality and information security
On the other hand, both firms have confidentiality and information security as a fundamental pillar. According to the press release, they guarantee the protection of clients’ sensitive information throughout the contractual relationship and beyond its termination. “Technological innovation must be accompanied by the highest levels of privacy and security protection. This agreement sets an exemplary model in the legal sector, ensuring that companies can adopt Artificial Intelligence without compromising the integrity of their data” notes Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, a partner at Pérez-Llorca in the Lisbon office.
“Our mission is to empower the talent of exceptional lawyers. When they are able to realize their full potential, true transformation happens. This alliance allows us to do just that, both with Pérez-Llorca’s lawyers and with their clients’ legal teams,” says Max Junestrand, CEO of Legora.
