Patrícia Fonseca appointed to Novobanco’s executive board
Pedro Boullosa Gonzalez is the new head of legal at Novobanco, replacing Patrícia Afonso Fonseca who, after ten years in the position, has been appointed to the bank’s executive board, as exclusively reported by Iberian Lawyer. In her new role, Fonseca will also be responsible for the legal, compliance, and ESG areas. Gonzalez, meanwhile, joins from Banco Santander Totta, where he had served as chief compliance officer since 2020.
“There are no words to describe this journey, the challenges we faced, the immense pride in what this team has accomplished, or the incredible success path of our bank! The best team ever is in great hands and exciting challenges are ahead at Novobanco”, said Fonseca.
Gonzalez specializes in corporate, M&A, securities, and capital markets law. He is qualified to practice in both Portugal and the U.S. Over his career, he has worked at Cuatrecasas, Shearman & Sterling in New York, and the CMVM – the Portuguese Securities Market Commission.
“Santander is an excellent bank, managed in a very professional environment with exemplary leadership from Pedro Castro e Almeida. I am very grateful and proud of the path I’ve taken”, said Gonzalez.
The start of duties is still subject to F&P approval.
