Rafael Fernández Valverde

New counsel at Montero Aramburu

Montero Aramburu has appointed the former Supreme Court judge, Rafael Fernández Valverde (pictured), as counsel in the administrative law area in the Madrid office.

Fernández Valverde is a member of the committee of experts for the modification of the statute of autonomy of the Canary Islands, holds the distinguished cross of the first class, the grand cross of San Raimundo de Peñafort and the gold medal of merit for justice, awarded by the government of the Canary Islands.

Before becoming a member of the High Court, Fernández Valverde was a judge of the National High Court and a member of the General Council of the Judiciary.

Also, Montero Aramburu’s new counsel is an associate lecturer at the universities of La Laguna, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Complutense de Madrid, teaching administrative and constitutional law. Besided, he is the author of more than forty publications in the field of public law, having collaborated with several specialised journals.
