Montero Aramburu and Gómez-Villares & Atencia seal their merger to create the largest law firm in Andalusia
Montero Aramburu and Gómez-Villares & Atencia have completed, after nearly three years of strategic alliance, the integration process between both firms. The merger, by absorption of Gómez-Villares & Atencia by Montero Aramburu, will give rise to a firm with a joint turnover of 28 million euros and a staff of 360 people, and a dozen offices spread between Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Madrid, making it one of the largest national business law firms.

Combined turnover of 28 million and a staff of 360 people
In April 2021 both firms announced a collaborative alliance with the aim of expanding their capacity throughout Andalusia. “The agreed merger represents a strategic step in the trajectory of both firms, which now see long trajectories united, sustained by identical values of client service vocation and excellence,” the firms shared in a statement.
With a multidisciplinary profile and founded in Seville in 1971, Montero Aramburu is one of the largest independent national law firms in our country. In 2023, the firm closed the year with revenues of 23 million euros, 5% more than in the previous year, and with a staff of 300 people. It has six offices in Madrid, Andalusia and the Canary Islands. GVA Gómez-Villares & Atencia, whose origins date back to 1953 when it began its trajectory in Malaga, is a multidisciplinary law firm with its main office in Malaga and with several offices in the province, in which more than 60 people work.
For Leonardo Neri, co-managing partner of Montero Aramburu, “the integration is a particularly relevant step in the history of the firm, as the project is consolidated in Andalusia and strengthened to continue its development at national level.” Javier Valdecantos, co-managing partner, points out that “we are very excited about the new stage that now begins and that will be a turning point for growth and service to our clients”.
Santiago Gómez Villares and Pablo Atencia, managing partners of GVA Gómez-Villares & Atencia, state that “the signing of this agreement is very good news for our clients, who will have more and better services at their disposal. The sum of both firms brings together highly specialized and complementary professionals in multidisciplinary sectors”.
In the coming months, the firm will complete the integration process with a new brand and joint corporate identity, representing the philosophy and values of both firms.
