MoneyGram promotes Andrea Brancatelli to assistant general counsel

Moneygram has promoted Andrea Brancatelli to assistant general counsel effective January 1, 2021

Andrea Brancatelli (pictured) has been promoted and took the role of assistant general counsel of MoneyGram, managing legal affairs for Europe, Russia and CIS states – covering a total of 56 countries. Andrea Brancatelli, in his new role, will manage all legal and regulatory matters coordinating, from the Rome office, a growing legal team that is currently based in London and Paris.

Andrea Brancatelli joined MoneyGram in 2016 as senior legal counsel for Southern Europe, then in 2018 he added the responsibility for new digital products, and finally, he is now managing the MoneyGram legal department for Europe, Russia and CIS.

MoneyGram is a global corporation that operates in the money transfer sector, providing financial services in more than 200 countries and holds a network of approximately 350.000 agent locations.

Previously Andrea Brancatelli worked at General Electric in Milan, where he acted as senior legal counsel for the “Capital” division of GE. His first in-house experience was in 2009 when he joined Borsa Italiana S.p.A. to follow the integration with London Stock Exchange Group. From 2006 to 2011 Andrea was senior associate of the Italian top-tier law firm Gianni & Origoni, within the Corporate and M&A department. At the beginning of his career he worked with the law firm CMS Italy – Adonnino Ascoli & Cavasola Scamoni, in the fields of Employment Law, Banking, Corporate and M&A.
