MLGTS partner quits to join Cuatrecasas
Cuatrecasas has recruited Lisbon-based litigation partner Miguel de Almada from MLGTS.
Almada was a partner at MLGTS for eight years.
Almada specialises in civil and commercial disputes, domestic and international arbitration, and insolvency and restructuring matters.
He has advised clients on disputes relating to banking, construction, corporate, distribution, energy, finance, joint ventures, M&A, projects, public-private partnerships, telecommunications, and trade and food.
Almada joined MLGTS in 1998 and become a partner in 2010.
Maria João Ricou, managing partner of Cuatrecasas in Portugal (pictured with Almada), said: “Miguel de Almada’s career, experience, and reputation provide the profile that we believe will reinforce and lead our litigation and arbitration practice. The Cuatrecasas team has a high level of technical ability and ethical rigour, and Miguel de Almada’s integration is part of a strategy to consolidate and develop this area of our practice, one of the most important in our firm at a global level.”
Almada said joining Cuatrecasas was a “very stimulating opportunity to take on a new, highly demanding project, with huge potential, international scope, and an organisational culture that strongly focuses on innovation.”
