MLGTS and Uría Menéndez instructed on EDP-Aquila deal

Portuguese law firm MLGTS advised energy company EDP on the sale of its subsidiary Small Hydro to investment management company Aquila Capital.

Aquila Capital was advised by Uría Menéndez-Proença de Carvalho on the deal, which was valued at €164 million.

Small Hydro owns 21 small hydroelectric plants in north and central Portugal, which have a capacity of 103 megawatts, according to EDP.

The MLGTS team was led by partner Ricardo Andrade Amaro (pictured) and included managing associate Diana Ribeiro Duarte and associate Helder M. Mourato.
