MLGTS acts for André Gomes on €35m move from Valencia to Barcelona

Portuguese law firm MLGTS advised footballer André Gomes on his transfer from Valencia CF to FC Barcelona.

Portugal midfielder Gomes joined FC Barcelona for a fee of €35 million.

The MLGTS team advising on the transfer included partner Carlos Osório de Castro and managing associate Paulo Rendeiro, who coordinates the firm’s sports law team.

After time spent in the youth academies at Porto and Benfica, Grijó-born Gomes made his debut for Benfica in July 2012. He joined Valencia on loan in the 2014/15 season.

In total, Gomes played 75 games and scored eight goals for Valencia.

In addition to being part of the Portugal team that triumphed at Euro 2016, Gomes’ honours include the Portuguese league title, as well as winning the Portuguese cup and league cup.
