Miguel Esperança Pina joins CS’ Associados

Miguel Esperança Pina, partner in the Litigation and Insolvency & Restructuring practice areas at CMS Portugal, is leaving the firm to join CS’ Associados. Esperança Pina brings over 30 years of experience in commercial and civil litigation, as well as in national and international arbitration. He also serves as an arbitrator both nationally and internationally, specializing in judicial and extrajudicial dispute resolution across business relations, construction contracts, financial agreements, commercial distribution, IT and telecommunications services, aviation, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, among other sectors.

From 1998 to June 2018, he was the coordinator of the Dispute Resolution department at Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira. He also founded APA – the Portuguese Arbitration Association. Currently, he serves as the president of the Portuguese Chapter of the Spanish Arbitration Club (Club Español del Arbitraje – CEA), is a founding member of the Portuguese Arbitration Association, a member of ICC Portugal, and an arbitrator at both the Arbitration Center of the Lisbon Commercial Association and the Mediation and Arbitration Center of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil. CMS Portugal has announced a restructuring of its litigation department, which will now be co-led by Rita Gouveia, who will serve as co-head and coordinator alongside Nuno Pena.
