MFA Legal welcomes new partner and expands services
MFA Legal announces the strengthening of its partnership team and the expansion of its service portfolio, now including a team specialized in technology, data protection, digital regulation, and cybersecurity. Jorge Silva Martins, João Carminho, and Inês Coré are joining the firm, transitioning from CS’Associados.
Jorge Silva Martins joins as partner and head of the technology, digital & regulatory practice. With over 20 years of experience in technology law, he has been advising national and international clients on complex regulatory issues. He is also well known in the market for his work in data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, intellectual property, and crypto-assets. On the regulatory side, Jorge has built a solid practice, particularly in the electronic communications sector, advising telecom operators, regulatory authorities, major European infrastructure companies, and large tech firms with operations or projects in Portugal.
Jorge Silva Martins holds a law degree and a master’s in Legal and Political Sciences from the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Law. He also holds an LL.M. from NYU School of Law and has completed programs in Intellectual Property (at Stanford Law School) and Artificial Intelligence (at Harvard Law School).
João Carminho joins MFA Legal as a senior associate. In recent years, he has primarily focused on data protection, intellectual property, and consumer law. In these areas, he has regularly assisted national and international clients with specialized legal advice, as well as in pre-litigation and both judicial and extrajudicial dispute resolution. He holds a law degree from NOVA School of Law and a Master’s in Forensic Law from the Lisbon School of the Catholic University of Portugal. He has also completed the Intellectual Property Procedural Law Course offered by the International Chamber of Commerce Portugal.
Inês Coré joins the firm as an associate. She holds a law degree from the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Law and an LL.M. in Law and Technology from Tilburg University. She has also completed an intensive course on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at the University of Lisbon’s Institute for Legal and Political Sciences. Additionally, Inês attended the Intellectual Property Procedural Law Course offered by the International Chamber of Commerce Portugal and a postgraduate course in Digital Evidence in Criminal Procedure at the University of Lisbon’s Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences.
