MFA Legal turns two with new location and digital leap

MFA Legal celebrates its second anniversary, repositioning itself as a “legal boutique” with a digital and technological focus. On the mark of the firm’s two years of activity, it becomes MFA Legal & Tech, defining itself as a law firm with expertise in tax, criminal, technology, digital law, cybersecurity, and risk management.

“These have been two intense and very challenging years, driven by the goal of elevating the firm to a prominent position in the Portuguese market”, says Samuel Fernandes de Almeida, managing partner. “We look back with satisfaction at the path we’ve travelled, but also with restlessness and the responsibility to always do more and better, maintaining our focus on high standards of quality and excellence.”

Samuel Fernandes de Almeida recalls: “In two years, we have tripled our headcount and welcomed Jorge Silva Martins and his team, with the creation of the technology, regulatory and digital practice. This was a strategic step in positioning the firm amid the ongoing technological transformation.” He adds: “We have been fortunate to attract talent, consistently investing in excellence and innovation. This has led to three international awards that attest to the quality of our lawyers and the excellence of our services.”

The firm’s second anniversary also marks a change of location, from Av. da Liberdade to Largo Jean Monnet (Lisbon), to a “space that could properly accommodate all our team members and provide our visitors with a welcoming and sophisticated environment”, highlights the managing partner.

In partnership with Lexstream, the firm has also implemented a digital communication platform featuring personalised avatars created through Artificial Intelligence. “With this project, MFA Legal & Tech takes a step forward in how it communicates with clients and the market, enabling content personalisation through avatars of our own team members, within an interactive environment that allows users to take part in surveys or schedule meetings directly. All this in multiple languages, with content generated by AI — from legal newsletters to alerts on relevant topics for our clients”, explains Samuel Fernandes de Almeida.
