Margarida Baptista Matos joins Sérvulo’s litigation team

Sérvulo & Associados has recruited Margarida Baptista Matos as a senior associate in litigation and arbitration, with a focus on commercial, corporate and civil litigation. She joins from Cuatrecasas, where she spent nine years and most recently served as a principal associate.

Margarida Baptista Matos has advised clients in civil and commercial disputes, notably in matters involving contractual and non-contractual liability. Over the past five years, she has worked with a particular focus on defending clients in private enforcement actions and class actions, in collaboration with international law firms.

At Cuatrecasas, she worked across the areas of litigation & arbitration. She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2016), a postgraduate advanced qualification in arbitration law from the same university, and a master’s degree in forensic law from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University.

“Margarida is the talent we had been looking to bring into our team for some time. Her integration represents an important reinforcement for Sérvulo’s litigation & arbitration practice. Her recognised technical expertise, practical approach to litigation and international experience add value to the team’s work and to the service we provide to our clients on a daily basis”, says João Saúde, partner in Sérvulo & Associados’ litigation & arbitration department.
