Linklaters and Pérez-Llorca advise on the €328m sale of a portfolio of buildings to the Junta de Andalucía

Linklaters and Pérez-Llorca have advised W. P. Carey, real estate investors, on the sale to the Junta de Andalucía of one of the largest portfolios of buildings in Spain that have been recently transacted (70 office buildings located in the Andalusia region) for €328m. This divestment is part of W. P. Carey new and recently announced strategic decision to exit the office market.

The Junta de Andalucía closed in October 2023 the purchase for 328 million euros of the 70 buildings that in 2014 were sold to Holmes Investments, owned by the WP Carey fund, to proceed later to rent them.

The sale of the 70 buildings in which currently work more than 8,500 civil servants, spread throughout the community and including headquarters of ministries such as Health or Agriculture, provincial delegations or employment offices.

Linklaters team was led by Adolfo Guerrero (partner), with support from Rosario Bernáldez Iglesias (managing associate), Mario García García (managing associate), and Gabriel García Antunes (junior associate).
