LegalTech Day 2025: The boundary between automation and human decisions
Under the slogan “The boundary between automation and human decisions”, a new edition of LegalTech Day kicks off, the event organized by Iberian Lawyer and Financecommunity.ES that this year brings together experts from the financial, legal and technology worlds at the Bless Hotel in Madrid. The event, which has become one of the key events for the legal-business ecosystem, focuses on how artificial intelligence and digitalization are redefining the role of the lawyer and the decision-making processes.
Reflection, technology and leadership
The day begins with a welcome coffee and opening remarks by Aldo Scaringella, CEO of LC Publishing Group, who contextualizes the event at a time of particular sensitivity for the legal sector in the face of advances in generative AI and new ethical and regulatory requirements.
The opening speeches continued with two outstanding voices of the Spanish legal scene: Elisabet Rojano-Vendrell, legal director for Spain and Latin America of the MENARINI group and country representative of ACC Europe followed by Marlen Estévez Sanz, partner of RocaJunyent, member of its board of directors and founding president of Women in a Legal World (WLW).
The program includes two major roundtables and the participation of leading figures from the legal and corporate landscape. The first session, entitled “Human vs. Machine: Shaping the Future of Legal Decision-Making,” explores the challenges posed by automation in the practice of law. Moderated by Ilaria Iaquinta, editorial director of Iberian Lawyer, the roundtable features the participation of professionals such as Gonçalo Cerejeira Namora (Cerejeira Namora, Marinho Falcão), Mariana García Fernández de Mesa (Accor), Alice Garlisi (Fever), Beatriz Rodríguez Gómez (RocaJunyent), Elisabet Rojano-Vendrell (MENARINI Group and ACC Europe), and Carmen Ruiz Lorente (Huawei).
Fintech, Venture Capital and the Future of Finance
After a coffee break, the event resumes with the second roundtable: “Fintech & Venture Capital: Investing in the Future of Finance”, which analyzes how financial innovation is attracting capital and redrawing business models. Julia Gil, journalist at FinancecommunityES and Iberian Lawyer, moderates this conversation between industry leaders such as David Azcona (Beka), Narcís Francas (HSBC), Álvaro Sánchez Sánchez (Denarius) and Gonzalo Tradacete Gallart (Faraday Venture Partners).
The speakers address key issues such as the regulatory obstacles that hinder the progress of fintechs, access to public funding, the risks associated with new means of payment and the common mistakes that lead to failure in investment rounds.
A closing with vision and networking
The day concludes with an open session of questions, final reflections and a light lunch, offering attendees the opportunity to continue the conversation in a more relaxed environment.
