Labormatters opens an office in Barcelona and grows in Valencia

Labormatters, a boutique labor law firm headed by Alfredo Aspra, continues to advance its growth strategy with the opening of a new office in Barcelona, one of Spain’s most dynamic business hubs.

To lead this strategic expansion, the firm has appointed Jorge Caballero as partner and Óscar Bascuñana as senior associate. Both lawyers bring over 20 years of experience advising Spanish and international companies in Barcelona and join the firm from the labor law department of Hotusa Group.

This move is further reinforced by the addition of Vanesa Orive, who joined the firm a few months ago as head of Labormatters’ Valencia office. A seasoned labor lawyer with a law degree from the University of Valencia, Orive previously led the labor practice at PwC Tax & Legal in the Levante region. With two decades of experience, she now serves as principal associate leading the firm’s operations in Valencia.

“The new office allows us to consolidate our presence in Barcelona and bring us closer to our clients while maintaining our hallmark values: commitment, honesty, specialization, rigor, and a constant focus on understanding our clients’ needs,” said Alfredo Aspra, coordinating partner at Labormatters.

Aspra also pointed out that the current legal landscape presents “major challenges for companies in areas such as working time and time tracking, absenteeism, discrimination, data protection in employment, compliance, equality, artificial intelligence, pay transparency, and psychosocial risks.”
