KWM strengthens Banking & Finance area

King & Wood Mallesons has strengthened its Banking & Finance team with the incorporation of Félix Hernández and Jose Berjón

pjimage 2022 02 04T080335.895King & Wood Mallesons has strengthened its Banking & Finance practice area with the incorporation of two new lawyers, Félix Hernández (pictured left), senior associate with more than fourteen years of experience, and Jose Berjón (pictured right), associate with a professional career of nearly seven years.

Both lawyers, specialise in advising on all types of financial institutions, private equity, real estate and energy funds. They will join the team led by partner Joaquín Sales.
These new additions reinforce KWM’s position in addressing the multiple challenges of the financial sector in 2022.

According to Carlos Pazos, managing partner of KWM in Madrid: “The incorporation of Félix and Jose is a clear commitment of KWM to increase the services currently offered by our firm in finance deals, especially in investments and divestments in the private equity sector. Felix and Jose have many years of experience in this area, having participated in recent years in some of the most relevant and sophisticated transactions.”

Félix Hernández and Jose Berjón have advised all types of entities (banks, investment funds, project funds, real estate funds and private equity funds) on the structuring and implementation of sophisticated finance operations, including, among others, acquisition finance, project finance, real estate finance, restructuring and corporate finance, both national and international. They also have an important track record advising special situations funds in the evaluation of distress debt investment opportunities and in the design and execution of different restructuring strategies, as well as in the acquisition and sale of loan portfolios.

Félix Hernández and Jose Berjón join KWM from Herbert Smith Freehills, where they have developed much of their professional career.
