KWM advises Arcano on launch of tech industry venture capital fund

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised Spanish asset management company Arcano Capital on the launch of a venture capital fund targeting technology companies.

The fund, Arcano Ventures, has a target of managing €180 million in funds.

The new fund – which is being launched in collaboration with US investment firm Urizen Ventures – will particularly focus on investing in Silicon Valley-based companies specialising in big data, the ‘collaborative economy’ and artificial intelligence.

Arcano Capital has more than 3,500 million euros in assets under management.

The KWM team was led by partner Isabel Rodríguez. She said: “Without a doubt, this is a great moment for the venture capital sector in Spain. In recent months, many international investors have entered the Spanish market, but now, with this alliance between Arcano and Urizen, the international position of Spanish venture capital funds is consolidated.”
