KPMG hires new head of competition law

KPMG Abogados has hired Alfredo Gómez to lead its competition law practice within the regulatory, administrative and competition department led by Carmen Mulet.

Alfredo Gómez has extensive experience in advising multinational and domestic companies across the full spectrum of competition law as well as foreign direct investment in sectors including, among others, financial services and insurance, infrastructure, e-commerce, new technologies and pharmaceuticals.

He worked for almost 10 years as a lawyer in Hogan Lovell’s antitrust and economic regulation practice and previously practised at Allen & Overy in Spain. He also collaborated with the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission in Brussels. He now joins KPMG Abogados to lead its competition law practice within the regulatory, administrative and competition department led by Carmen Mulet.

Alfredo holds an LLM in Competition Law (distinction) from King’s College London, an MA in Interdisciplinary European Studies from the College of Europe and a BA in Law and Politics from the Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. He speaks Spanish, English, French and Italian.
