KPMG advises on the acquisition of Grupo SSG
KPMG Abogados has advised Asterion Industrial Partners on the buy-side tax due diligence and tax structuring services in connection with the acquisition of Grupo SSG, the second largest healthcare services operator in Spain, which provides services to public administrations, private entities and individuals.
The SSG Group, founded more than 20 years ago in Sevilla, has a fleet of more than 1,000 ambulances and offers services in more than 20 branches throughout Spain.
Asterion has extensive experience in infrastructure management which, together with its financial capacity, will enable it to support SSG Group’s current growth plan to become the leading company in medical transport in Spain. SSG Group currently operates in Spain and maintains a strong presence in the regions of Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha, an activity that Asterion will continue to promote.
SSG Group, which will maintain its headquarters in Sevilla, will continue to work to provide the best service to users and Public Administrations, one of the fundamental pillars of its business plan. The founder of SSG Group, Diego Prieto, will maintain a stake in the company and will remain as a director.
Pilar García Molinero (partner), Jose Ignacio González del Castillo Burgos (director), Marina Arribas Martín (associate) and Concha Navarro Torrens (associate) from the tax team of KPMG Abogados in Madrid have participated in the operation.
