KPMG Abogados advises on the acquisition of Park Air by Indra

KPMG Abogados has advised Indra on the buy-side due diligence, tax, labour and legal aspects of the acquisition of Park Air, a UK company specialising in air traffic communications solutions.

The transaction involved Álvaro de Silva Urquijo, partner in the Madrid tax team, Francisco Fernández Díez, partner in the labour team and Luis Mingo, partner in the legal team.

Indra, a leading engineering and technology company in the aerospace, defence and mobility sectors, has reached a binding agreement with NG to acquire Park Air, one of its UK subsidiaries. Park Air is a leader in ground-to-air radio systems and designs, manufactures, supplies and supports air traffic management (ATM) radios worldwide with two core product lines serving the civil and military markets. Major customers include air navigation service providers (ANSPs), airports, system integrators and government military organisations. Ground-to-air radios enable communication with aircraft during take-off, flight and landing.

Park Air is a UK company founded in 1966 and was part of the Northrop Grumman group since 1996. Park Air produces c. 5,000 units of radios and ancillary products per year and has global customers from air navigation service providers, airlines and systems integrators, as well as defence customers.

The two companies are jointly participating in the tender to replace the US Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) ground-to-air radios that are currently reaching the end of their useful life.
