Kepler-Karst launches new art law division led by Laura Villarraga
Kepler-Karst, a law firm specializing in restructuring and insolvency, has announced the launch of a new Art Law division, to be led by Laura Villarraga. The firm, headed by Davinia Sánchez, has appointed Villarraga as Of Counsel to spearhead this strategic initiative, which expands its specialized services and strengthens its intellectual property practice.
The new division will provide comprehensive legal counsel on contractual negotiations, covering drafting, reviewing, and managing agreements related to the complexities of the art world. Additionally, the practice will include tax advisory services for the acquisition, transfer, and management of art collections, as well as specialized dispute resolution through mediation, arbitration, and litigation in national and international art-related cases.
Laura Villarraga, a lawyer and art historian, specializes in intellectual property and the art market. She has extensive experience advising artists, designers, and organizations in the creative sector, focusing on contract negotiations, copyright protection, and digital asset management, including the tokenization of artworks.
