Kennedys recruits Jesús Iglesias as cyber and regulatory insurance partner
Kennedys has appointed Jesús Iglesias, from Clyde & Co, as a cyber insurance and regulatory insurance partner in Madrid. With the aim of maintaining the firm’s growth momentum in EMEA, he joins the firm’s legal director, Clara Bermejo, and associate, José Temes.
These new hires follow those of Ignacio Figuerol, Ricardo Garrido and Susana Martínez, who joined as partners in Madrid with a team of nine lawyers in May 2024.
Jesús Iglesias
Jesús’ main practice area is cyber, regulatory and corporate insurance. On the cyber side, he advises on breach response, coverage advice and privacy advice to policyholders under cyber policies. He has also advised a number of cyber insurers operating in Spain on their cyber policies and policy wording. His regulatory and corporate practice includes drafting policies, distribution agreements with brokers, advising on regulatory proceedings urged by the Spanish Insurance Regulator and the Spanish Data Protection Authority. And also, the incorporation of Spanish entities and local branches of EU insurers.
He also has extensive experience in international insurance programs and has advised multinationals and Spanish insurers on captive insurance schemes. In addition, Jesús advises on reinsurance litigation and has been involved in several arbitration and court proceedings.
Jesús is a professor of insurance law and regularly participates in conferences and seminars.
