Josep Gálvez joins Ramco as Senior Legal Advisor

Ramco Litigation Funding has appointed Josep Gálvez as Senior Legal Advisor and a member of its Advisory Board. Gálvez brings extensive experience in international arbitration across both common law and civil law systems, as well as deep knowledge in complex enforcement scenarios including sovereign immunity, anti-suit injunctions, and award execution.

Currently practicing as a Barrister at 4–5 Gray’s Inn Square in London, and as a qualified lawyer in both Madrid and Barcelona, Gálvez will maintain his independent legal practice while providing strategic insight into Ramco’s arbitration-related investments. His unique dual background—having served as a judge in Spain and later developing a prominent arbitration practice in London—positions him as a key asset for cross-border dispute resolution and complex arbitral strategies.

Widely recognized for his expertise in investment, maritime, and commercial arbitration, particularly in matters involving Latin America, the UK, Asia, and intra-European disputes, Gálvez is also a Member of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators in the City of London and is actively involved in several leading arbitral institutions.

The appointment of Gálvez marks a strategic milestone for Ramco Litigation Funding as it continues its growth as a boutique litigation funder specializing in high-value international disputes.

Cristina Soler, Founder and CEO of Ramco, commented on the appointment: “Josep brings a rare combination of legal depth and clarity that defines top-tier arbitration counsel. His understanding of cross-border legal dynamics and the inner workings of arbitral tribunals is both sophisticated and deeply pragmatic. At a time when legal finance is reshaping the litigation landscape, his addition strengthens our strategic capabilities and reinforces our global commitment to excellence.”

In response to his appointment, Gálvez added: “Dispute funding is no longer a peripheral tool—it has become a core strategic partner. What I particularly value in Ramco is its seriousness, sound legal judgment, and distinctly international outlook.”
