José Pedro Alberca, new economic criminal law partner at Eversheds Sutherland
Eversheds Sutherland has appointed José Pedro Alberca as the new partner of the Economic Criminal Law department in the Spanish office of the firm, where he was previously counsel and head of the department.

José Pedro Alberca
Alberca holds a degree in Law from the University of Salamanca and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Legal Advice from the Instituto de Empresa. He has extensive experience in the defense and representation of companies and individuals in legal proceedings, with a specialized focus on socioeconomic crimes.
Throughout his professional career, he has handled numerous litigations related to complex disputes and crimes committed in the business environment, including corporate crimes, tax fraud, labor accidents, fraud, asset theft, misappropriation, as well as crimes against public health, consumers and the environment.
In addition, he has acquired solid experience in internal crisis management, focusing on the preparation of defense strategies and risk minimization before legal disputes arise. His practice also encompasses international judicial cooperation, with interventions in transnational criminal proceedings and the execution of international legal assistance requests, complex passive extradition proceedings and European arrest warrants. In addition to his work at the firm, Alberca collaborates in the development of crime prevention programs for companies and training for their managers, acting as an external advisor in internal investigations.
In his teaching role, Alberca collaborates as a professor in the Master of Access to the Bar and Procurement of the Bar Association of Madrid, of which he is an advisor of its Criminal Law Section, as well as in the Master of Access of the Villanueva University, collaborating regularly in forums and specialized legal media.
Professional Career
Alberca joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2008, (then Eversheds Lupicinio) in the Litigation and Arbitration Department. Previously, he was an associate in the Litigation department of De Andrés y Artíñano Abogados and in the law firm of Prof. Manuel Cobo del Rosal.
