Jorge Muñoz, new head of legal and compliance at Telix Pharmaceuticals

Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited has hired Jorge Muñoz as the new Head of Legal and Compliance, Global MedTech, Global Digital/AI and Privacy. He joins from Gilead Sciences, where he held the position of General Counsel and Compliance Officer in Spain.

Telix is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialisation of therapeutic and diagnostic (‘theranostic’) radiopharmaceuticals. Telix’s products use targeted radiation to better inform treatment decisions and deliver personalised therapy in areas of significant unmet medical needs, such as cancer and rare diseases.

In this new position he will be responsible for enabling legal solutions for the newly created global Medical Technologies business unit worldwide (MedTech Business Unit) which is responsible for the worldwide development and commercialization of medical devices, artificial intelligence and digital software products. His partnership will enable other Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutic Commercialization Business Units to support their patient journey.

He will also support the global implementation of privacy, digital, artificial intelligence (AI) and information security across Telix Group for any team.

The lawyer joins from Gilead Science where he held the position of General Counsel and Compliance Officer in Spain and has over twenty years of qualifications, with extensive in-house experience in the pharmaceutical and MedTech sectors. He has experience in commercial and corporate matters, compliance, competition law, contract negotiations and advertising law, FCPA, intellectual property.

Muñoz has worked and led diverse and remote teams in different markets/regions for many years. Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and North America, with some of them. He lived and worked in the USA and London for more than 10 years.
