Jones Day incorporates new counsel
Global law firm Jones Day announces the incorporation of Bárbara Fernández Cobo as counsel in the public law practice in the Madrid office.
Fernández Cobo has more than 10 years of experience in the legal handling of administrative and judicial proceedings, as well as in advising on commercial transactions with a regulatory component, licensing and governmental permit applications. In particular, his practice focuses on advising clients operating in the industrial and energy sectors on environmental, health and safety regulations, including environmental assessments, integrated pollution control, environmental liability, natural resources, waste management, water, air quality and contaminated land.

Fernandez Cobo joins Jones Day’s globalpublic law practice, where she will work alongside colleagues in Europe and around the world to advise clients on administrative and agency litigation, government contracts, investigations, international trade, national security, product regulation and other commercial matters.

Fernández Cobo holds a degree in Law and Political Science and Public Administration from San Pablo CEU University. She is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and has taught Environmental Law at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE), Administrative Law in the Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and the Master’s Degree in Energy Law and Energy Transition at TECH Universidad Tecnológica.
