João Tiago Silveira leaves Morais Leitão to focus on academia

João Tiago Silveira, partner at Morais Leitão, is leaving the law firm to dedicate himself fully to teaching, the firm confirmed, following reports in the Portuguese press.

Silveira, head of the public law, urban planning and environment department at Morais Leitão and a former Secretary of State, is a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He also serves as president of the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences (ICPJ), a researcher at Lisbon Public Law, and was recently elected co-president of the International Association of Legislation (IAL). The public law, urban planning and environment department at Morais Leitão will be headed by Diana Ettner, counsel, and Vasco Xavier Mesquita, senior lawyer.
