Joana Pinto, ex Accenture, new partner of Antas da Cunha Ecija

Antas da Cunha Ecija announces the incorporation of Joana Pinto, former senior legal counsel of Accenture Portugal and member of the Executive Committee of Accenture Portugal after 17 years, as new partner and co-head of the Technology Transactions Unit.

Fernando Antas da Cunha stresses, “she was the ‘piece’ we were missing.” And he explains: “Very early on, we identified a space in the legal world that we believed we could occupy: Digital Law. Adapting traditional areas to this technological language is something that does not come naturally to us. In this sense, over the years we have been strengthening our skills and competencies, incorporating into the team those we consider the best.”

Joana Pinto

Pinto is a specialist in the regulation and governance of artificial intelligence, technology law, negotiation of technology contracts and corporate governance, she has extensive experience in advising on highly complex technology transactions in the public and private sectors, in both national and international contexts.

With over 25 years’ professional experience, he has built up a solid track record in multinational technology companies, advising senior executives, aligning legal strategies with business objectives and mitigating risks. For 17 years, he led the Legal Department of Accenture Portugal, where he was a member of the Executive Committee, and was also responsible for Accenture’s legal operations in Angola and Mozambique. Previously, she worked as In-House Counsel at Capgemini, Sonaecom and Optimus, and was legal advisor to the Deputy Secretary of State of the Minister of Internal Affairs in the XVI Constitutional Government.

She has written several opinion articles on law applied to technology and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences on topics such as artificial intelligence and its legal challenges. She has a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, executive training in Financial Accounting from Harvard Business School, in Organizational Leadership from AESE Business School and a post-graduate degree in Telecommunications Law from the University of Coimbra.

According to Joana Pinto, what attracted her to the firm was “the combination of technical excellence with a practical and visionary approach, focused on legal solutions that impact clients’ businesses. In the current context of emerging technologies, legal advice cannot be reactive; it has to anticipate challenges and offer solutions that balance theory and practice.” Antas da Cunha Écija is a firm that understands the complexity of the times we live in and stands out for its ability to transform regulatory challenges into strategic opportunities for clients”

New strategy 2025

In conclusion, Fernando Antas da Cunha reveals the strategy that the firm will adopt this year: “In 2025 we will have completed 10 years of activity. In recent years we have experienced very significant growth, year after year. 2025 will be different.” The managing partner of Antas da Cunha Ecija explains why: “It will be a year of consolidation. We will certainly follow the market closely, but our priority will be to adjust processes, develop competencies and find new ways to add value and expertise to our clients and partners, using technological tools based on Artificial Intelligence.”
