JD Sports instructs Cuatrecasas on SportIbérica acquisition

The Lisbon office of Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira advised JD Sports on the acquisition of a majority stake in Portuguese company SportIbérica, owner of The Athlete’s Foot chain.

Cuatrecasas handled the purchase and restructuring of a portfolio of more than ten stores in Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Portimão.

The Cuatrecasas team was led by partner Nuno Sá Carvalho and included partner Maria da Glória Leitão and associates Marta Pereira da Silva, Sandra Lima da Silveira, Evo Fernandes and Marta Cabral Pestana.

UK-based sportswear retailer JD Sports has more than 900 stores around the world.
