Javier Hermosilla joins Cuatrecasas as partner

At the Extraordinary General Partners’ Meeting, Cuatrecasas approved the appointment of Javier Hermosilla as a new partner specialising in corporate M&A in Spain. He transits from Clifford Chance, where he was counsel.

Hermosilla has experience in both domestic and international firms. He holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from ICADE and a Master’s in Energy Law from Enerclub. He has experience in advising funds and corporates on M&A transactions in the energy, infrastructure, TMT and banking sectors, and in recent years has led numerous energy-related deals. Hermosilla is also noted for his work in private equity and combines his practice with an active teaching role at institutions such as CUNEF.

According to Cuatrecasas, the hiring “strengthens Cuatrecasas’ corporate structure, boosting its capacity to handle complex transactions and to develop innovative solutions in the M&A field”. As noted by Corporate area coordinating partner Javier Villasante: “Hermosilla stands out not only for his professional qualities, but also for his personal ones. His deep knowledge of the energy and infrastructure market, together with the well-established recognition of his professional practice, enables us to reinforce our leadership in a key industry across all the jurisdictions in which we operate.”
