Javier Fernández-Lasquetty new Of counsel at Ramón y Cajal

Ramón y Cajal Abogados has announced the appointment of Javier Fernández-Lasquetty as Of Counsel in its Information Technology practice, led by Norman Heckh. Recognized as one of Spain’s foremost experts in intellectual property (IP), industrial property, and image rights, Fernández-Lasquetty brings a wealth of expertise to the firm, as highlighted by top legal directories such as Chambers and Legal500.

With a distinguished career in institutional roles, Fernández-Lasquetty currently serves as President of the Intellectual and Industrial Property Section of the Madrid Bar Association and is a panelist and Advisory Board member at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center. He is also a board member of DENAE (Entertainment Law), LES Spain & Portugal, and Co-Vice Chair of the LES International Trademarks, Designs, and Merchandising Committee. Additionally, he is an active member of international organizations such as AIPPI, ALAI, and INTA.

His contributions to academia are equally remarkable. He is currently a professor and coordinator of intellectual property law in LLM programs at IE Law School and has served as a guest lecturer at leading institutions including Universidad Carlos III, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Universidad de Alicante, and Universidad de Navarra.
