Jausas and GMQ merge

Spanish law firms Jausas and GMQ Abogados have merged.

The newly merged entity, which will be known as Jausas, has a total of 14 partners.

GMQ Abogados is led by Rodrigo Martos and Andrés de la Quadra-Salcedo, both of whom will be partners in the new entity.

A Jausas statement said it had taken the decision to merge in order to “strengthen its presence in Madrid by incorporating a team of professionals that will strengthen the commercial, M&A, restructuring and insolvency, litigation, taxation, employment, and administrative practices”.

Jausas president and partner Agustí Bou said the two firms shared “major synergies” in their national and international client portfolios.

Martos, who was GMQ Abogados’ founding partner, said being part of a “prestigious team like Jausas enables us to be more competitive in every respect”.

Jausas’ revenues totalled €8.3 million in 2016.
