Jabier Badiola, re-elected managing partner of Dentons in Spain
Jabier Badiola has been re-elected as head of the Spanish office of the global law firm Dentons, for a new term until 2027, consolidating its growth and specialization strategy.
Badiola has commented that, under this renewed management, his goal is to “continue on the path of growth to remain a benchmark in business law, through the addition of top-level professionals and the commitment to new sectors and business opportunities that expand our range of services”.
Jabier Badiola
A partner at Dentons since 2015, Badiola assumed leadership of the Spanish office in 2020, driving its success through an ambitious work plan that aimed to place the firm among the top international firms in our country.
Since then, Dentons España has added to its ranks a total of 11 new partners between incorporations and internal promotions, to strengthen some of the most strategic areas of the firm and launch new business lines such as Corporate and M&A, Capital Markets, Energy, Real Estate, Labor, Litigation, Banking and Finance, Public or Restructuring and Insolvency, fulfilling the roadmap that had, among other objectives, to have a more specialized profile to be an increasingly transactional firm with the ability to provide a full service advice.
In addition, in 2022 the firm grew in Spain in double digits, specifically by 12.4%, reaching a turnover of 18.3 million euros.
European strength
Jabier Badiola’s re-election as managing partner of the Spanish office follows his election last March as a member of the firm’s European Council, the governing body that provides oversight to the CEO of Europe and the team that leads and reviews major strategic decisions, initiatives and policies on behalf of Dentons’ partners across continental Europe and Central Asia, following a vote by all European partners.
Both appointments represent a strong recognition of the Spanish firm in the Dentons Europe network, as well as Badiola’s international relevance and the support of the firm’s European management for his management and the strategic position of the Spanish office.
Since assuming his position as managing partner in 2020, Jabier Badiola has also continued to serve as partner in charge of the Banking and Finance practice in Spain. Recognized as a leading banking and finance lawyer, he advises clients on a wide range of syndicated loan transactions, including acquisition finance, structured financings, project finance, corporate lending and debt restructuring.
