IE Law School names Soledad Atienza new dean

IE University has announced the appointment of Soledad Atienza as the new dean of IE Law School

Soledad Atienza (pictured) was previously vice-dean of International Relations at IE Law School, as well as Director of the Law degree program at IE University. Before that, she practised at the Spanish law firm Pérez-Llorca. She replaces Javier de Cendra, who left the post to be the dean of Universidad Francisco de Vitoria School of Law & Business.

As IE Law School dean, Atienza will also continue in her teaching role. Her expertise includes the areas of comparative law and legal teaching methods. She got her PhD in Social Sciences from IE University and holds an Executive MBA degree from IE Business School. She also holds a Law degree from the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Spain and a Certificate in European Studies from the European Institute of the University of Saarland (Germany) and was a visiting student at Cornell University in New York.

Atienza is the IBA (International Bar Association) Academic and Professional Development Committee senior advisor, and she co-directs Pérez-Llorca / IE Commercial Law chair.
