Iberian Lawyer is holding today the IBL Energy Day 2025
Iberian Lawyer is holding today a new edition of IBL Energy Day, a meeting that brings together leading experts from the legal, financial and business worlds to analyse the challenges, opportunities and prospects of the energy transition in Spain and Europe, with the support of Watson Farley & Williams.
The event, which takes place in Espacio Larra (Madrid), revolves around a highly topical issue: ‘Funding a Balanced Energy Mix: Lessons from Spain’s Blackout and the Urgency to Prevent Future Crises’. The conference will be attended by general counsels, executives from energy companies, representatives from banks, funds and investors, as well as partners from law firms specialising in energy and infrastructure financing.
The programme is divided into two key sessions
The first panel, entitled ‘Powering the Transition: The Legal Landscape for Renewables, Nuclear and Beyond’, addresses the role of law in the promotion of clean energy. Participants include Antonio Adami (Recurrent Energy), Clara Cerdán Molina (Solarig), Eduardo García (Moeve), Fernando Reina Muñoz (Lightsourcebp) and Federico Silva Ortiz (Arba Energías Renovables), moderated by Ilaria Iaquinta, director of Iberian Lawyer.
This will be followed by the second session, focusing on investment dynamics: ‘Financing the Future: Energy Investment Across Clean Technologies and Nuclear Power’. The panel is composed of Fernando V. Beguiristáin (Acciona & Nordex Green Hydrogen), Rodrigo Berasategui (WFW), Javier Ferrando de Martín-Pinillos (Grenergy Renovables), Rubén Martínez Cartanyà (Banco Sabadell) and Chema Zabala López (Alantra). Journalist Julia Gil, from Financecommunity.es and Iberian Lawyer, moderates this conversation focused on the financing of energy projects in a context marked by geopolitical uncertainty, the energy blackout and the rise of technologies such as green hydrogen.
Networking and closing
The event ends with an informal lunch, preceded by a closing speech summarising the main conclusions of the day. In addition to providing legal and economic keys, IBL Energy Day 2025 has established itself as a benchmark meeting point for those who are leading – from different angles – the future of energy in Spain and Europe.
