Herbert Smith Freehills acts for Nazca Capital on IMOncology sale

Nazca Captal was advised by Herbert Smith Freehills on the sale of IMOncology – a leading provider of oncology services in Spain – to GenesisCare.

IMOncology has 12 sites in five regions in Spain: Madrid, Sevilla, Murcia, Alicante and Castilla la Mancha.

It provides radiotherapy services and medical oncology services for cancer patients in both private clinics and on behalf of the Spanish national health service.

Across the UK and Spain, GenesisCare will now be operating 22 cancer centres with five more centres under development. This is in addition to its 27 cancer treatment centres in Australia.

GenesisCare managing director Dan Collins said: “We are excited to be combining with IMOncology doctors, staff and partner hospitals in Spain. Together, we can improve the quality of care, and speed up access for patients in need. Our plans include significant investment in the latest technology and treatment techniques, training and education for staff and the development of new integrated cancer services right across Spain.”

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in July 2016.
