Harvey opens Madrid office to expand in Iberia

Harvey has launched a new office in Madrid as part of its expansion across the Iberian Peninsula, strengthening its presence in Spain and Portugal after more than two years of active collaboration with leading law firms, in-house legal teams and academic institutions in the region.

The platform has been designed with direct access to Spanish and Portuguese law, integrating local content into workflows and enabling end-to-end task execution through AI-driven agents.

Jorge Bestard, Vice President of Sales for EMEA at Harvey, noted that the company’s entry into the market builds on an established presence rather than a greenfield approach, highlighting its focus on reducing routine workloads for lawyers and enabling greater focus on strategic and advisory work. Omar Puertas, Legal Innovation Partner, added that the platform allows multi-step legal tasks to be executed more efficiently, freeing up time for higher-value activities.

Partnerships and academic expansion

Harvey has already partnered with major firms and organisations in the region, includingCuatrecasas, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, PwC España, PLMJ, Vieira de Almeida and B. Cremades & Asociados, as well as in-house legal teams at Carrefour and Repsol.

In parallel, the company has expanded its Harvey Law Schools programme into Spain through collaborations with IE Law School, Esade Law School and ICADE, aimed at equipping future lawyers with practical skills in legal AI.
