Grupo Dia appoints new general counsel
Patricio Morenés has been appointed new general counsel of Grupo Dia and joins the company’s Management Committee. Morenés, who specializes in corporate law, corporate and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), assumes the position after three years as deputy general counsel of the group, where he has acquired a deep knowledge of its national and international operations.
This appointment is a sign of Dia’s firm commitment to the promotion of internal talent as a fundamental axis to accompany the next phases of the company’s strategy.
With a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy (LL.M.) from the Instituto de Empresa, Morenés has extensive experience in the field of law. Prior to joining Grupo Dia as Deputy General Counsel in 2020, he has developed his professional career in the world of national and international business law in firms such as Allen & Overy, Deloitte and KPMG.
He succeeds Sagrario Fernández, general counsel of the group for the last four years, who leaves the company to take on new professional projects.
