Gómez-Acebo & Pombo appoints new resident partner in Lisbon

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has appointed Mafalda Barreto as the firm’s new resident partner in Lisbon.

Barreto becomes the third person to hold the position in just over two years. She replaces Francisco Peña, who has returned to the firm’s Madrid office after two years in Lisbon.

Prior to Peña, the role was filled by Carlos Rueda, who is now the firm’s managing partner.

Barreto’s areas of specialisation include banking and finance, corporate and M&A, capital markets, restructuring, and corporate disputes.

In January this year, the firm appointed David González Gálvez as resident partner in the firm’s New York office.
