Garrigues revenues 481.85 million euros in 2024

Garrigues‘ revenues increased by €27.58 million, or 6.1%, in 2024, to a record €481.85 million. In Spain, revenues reached 419.19 million, an increase of 22.46 million, or 5.7%.

“2024 has been a good year for Garrigues. The trust of our clients and the good work of our team have enabled us to achieve a new all-time record in revenues. We have maintained solid and profitable growth, strengthened our teams and invested in areas that we consider strategic for our future, such as digital. The incorporation of the Mexican firm Sánchez Devanny consolidates our international expansion and makes us a firm of reference in the countries where we are present and, in particular, in Latin America,” says Fernando Vives, executive chairman of the firm.

Turnover

In the rest of the world, it amounted to 62.66 million, an increase of 8.9%. The weight of international business was 13% in 2024. If the integration of the Mexican law firm Sánchez Devanny, announced last July and formalized in recent weeks, had become effective last year, this would have risen to around 18%.

Garrigues has 32 offices in 12 countries on four continents. The geographical areas that performed best last year were Latin America (where the firm is present in Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru) and Portugal, with offices in Lisbon and Oporto.

By area

The main practice areas increased their revenues during the year. Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions has the largest share of the business (31.2%), followed by Tax (30%), Dispute Resolution: Litigation and Arbitration (12.8%), Labor (11.9%) and Administrative and Constitutional (8%). The firm emerged as the leader by both value and number of transactions advised in the 2024 M&A rankings in Spain, with a total of €30,856 million and 207 transactions (according to TTR data).

Innovation and digitalization

Garrigues has continued to invest in its digital transformation, aware that innovation is necessary to strengthen its position. In 2024, it invested €17 million, up 14.1% on the previous year. In the last five years, investment in innovation and digitalization has amounted to nearly €70 million.

Garrigues GA_IA

Among other initiatives, the Firm has made an effort in its generative AI strategy, combining Garrigues GA_IA (the internally designed and developed platform that uses the Firm’s datasets, and guarantees security and confidentiality), with third-party commercial models for productivity enhancement (Microsoft’s Copilot) and specialized law practice (Harvey).

This commitment to innovation led the firm to launch g-digital, Garrigues’ unique digital business division, which aims to help companies in their digital transformation with techno-legal solutions that integrate legal knowledge, improve efficiency, strengthen legal security and create new opportunities in a regulated environment.

In 2024, g-digital consolidated with new products, designed and developed with the collaboration of EAD Trust, a subsidiary of the firm authorized and supervised by the Spanish Government to offer qualified digital trust services. One example is GoCertius’ certified chats, which allow the certification of messages, files and actions (such as modifications or deletions) in Telegram chats with a high evidentiary legal effectiveness.

Sustainability Plan 2023-2025

Likewise, 2024 saw Garrigues’ 2023-2025 Sustainability Plan reach its halfway point, which incorporates ESG strategically in all of the Firm’s areas of activity and is structured around 12 lines of action.
