Garrigues on the acquisition of Lakmé
Realza Capital has acquired 70% of the Spain-based firm Lakmé. Founded in 1996 and based in Barcelona, Lakmé is a benchmark in the production of professional hair cosmetics products. It exports around 95% of its sales to more than 100 countries and in 2021 achieved a record turnover of 19 million euros.
In the new stage with Realza capital as majority shareholder, the firm seeks to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the cosmetics sector where hair care plays a prominent role, as well as the growing demand for sustainable products.
“The investment aims to consolidate and strengthen Lakmé’s global presence in the highly attractive hair cosmetics market,” says Pedro de Peñaranda, Partner at Realza.
The team from Garrigues advising Lakmé was formed by the partner, Sergio Sánchez Solé and the Senior Associate, Tania Targas.
