Garrigues announces new Portugal managing partner

Garrigues has appointed João Miranda de Sousa as its Portugal managing partner.

 

Miranda de Sousa joined Garrigues in 2008 to head the firm´s intellectual property department.

João Miranda de Sousa replaces Isabel Martinez de Salas, who will retire from the firm after leading Garrigues in Portugal for ten years.

Garrigues has operated in Portugal since 2005 and has a team of 130 people – including 12 partners – based in Lisbon and Oporto.

Garrigues managing partner Fernando Vives said: “We are very grateful to Isabel Martinez de Salas for her excellent work, and are delighted to have a professional of the stature of João Miranda de Sousa to assume the role of managing partner in Portugal.”
