GA_P advises Synlab Group in the sale of Synlab España to Eurofins
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised the Synlab Group, a leader in medical diagnostic services and specialized tests in Europe, in the sale of Synlab Spain to Eurofins Scientific (EUFI.PA).
The divestment is part of Synlab’s strategy to optimize its network and focus on attractive strategic markets with sustainable development potential for the Group. In 2023, the Spanish business contributed approximately €140 million to the Group’s revenues.
The transaction has been coordinated internally by Dr. Peter Macheiner, head of M&A and procurement, and Dr. Fabian Walla, general counsel and CCO, Synlab.
The Gómez-Acebo & Pombo team has been coordinated by Pablo Fernández Cortijo and Diana Linage; and formed by Samara Schaar, Monica Ojeda, Guillermo Menéndez and Gonzalo del Saz, all from corporate; Miguel Troncoso and Laura Lence, from competition and EU Law; Iván Escribano, from tax; Ignacio del Fraile and Jesús Tallos Del Río from labor; Isabel Bandín, Iratze Arrigain and Isabela Crespo, from intellectual property.
