GA_P advises Messi’s Socimi on its agreement with Meliá
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised Edificio Rostower, the Socimi owned by Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi, on the signing of a strategic management agreement with Meliá Hotels International for its six luxury hotels operating under the MiM brand.
Effective 1 November, the agreement brings the hotels in Andorra, Baqueira, Ibiza, Mallorca, Sitges, and Sotogrande — totaling around 500 rooms — under The Meliá Collection, the group’s premium luxury segment. Previously, these properties were managed by Majestic Hotel Group.
Through this partnership, Edificio Rostower ensures that its hotels are managed by a globally recognized operator with extensive expertise in the luxury hospitality sector. This collaboration guarantees high-quality standards, a unique guest experience, and enhanced international marketing and distribution for the MiM Hotels brand.
For Meliá Hotels International, the agreement strengthens its position in the premium hotel market and expands collaborations with elite sports personalities. The partnership with Lionel Messi’s SOCIMI complements its existing Zel Hotels project with tennis legend Rafael Nadal, further consolidating Meliá’s international presence in luxury tourism and sports hospitality.
The firm team involved in the transaction included Augusto Piñel, Jacobo Palanca and Beatriz Dosdá (Corporate), Javier Vinuesa and Iván Escribano (Tax), Enrique Isla and Carmen García (Real Estate), and Bárbara Sainz de Vicuña and Mónica Esteve (Intellectual Property).
